Recommendations for a spring/summer/fall tire?

Our SS had 12,000 miles on it when the snow tires went on. The tread on the original Goodyears was worn. I'd love to tell you that it was the result of multiple track days and spirited driving. In reality, it has much more to do with the lunar surface of NJ's roads. Looking ahead to the spring, I'd like to replace them with a tire that has significantly better tread life. I hope to not need the runflat technology and was leaning towards a set of Cooper Zeons. Thoughts?

Also, any idea on the largest tire size we can safely fit on the stock wheels? Looking for traction, not stance.
