window chalk on window gaskets

hey guys - I searched and couldn't find an answer to this one...

I used the liquid chalk on my windows for a track day. usually it's dry and then I just scrape/wipe it off. but this time, it RAINED and it all ran into my rubber window seals.

can't get the stuff off now. i've tried soap/water and alcohol without any luck. any tips/tricks?

thanks!

matt

I hate that stuff. Had the same thing happen on a car I was selling. I used Chemical Guys WipeOut surface cleaner.

Might try Adams rubber and tire cleaner as well.

thanks guys. I could not believe how much the chalk soaked into the rubber. it literally seems like it soaked in and is now permanently engrained. ugh.

i'll try your suggestions!

Not sure if the chalk would do the same thing, but a lot of times, waxes and other things cause oxidation and even if you remove it you are left with white or faded rubber. The Adams cleaner actually has something in it to remove the oxidation and help restore the color. That's why I suggest it. I'm sure there are others out there as well.
