Headers (brand and size)
Hey guys looking for feedback mostly on header size and what the big difference is. 1-7/8" vs. 2". I'm getting stainless works full exhaust and they say for supercharger applications they recommend 2" but I've heard unless you are going for 800whp or more to stay with the smaller 1-7/8". I was told the difference in power is minimal and it was suggested that if I plan on modifying more in the future to stick with the 2". My mods are only going to be full exhaust, intake, cam, pulley upgrade and tune.
And also want to hear feedback on peoples choices of different brands. |

Honestly I'd go with 2". For one, you can't have too much HP, that extra 10 that may make you 700 RWHP instead of 690 could be worth it (To me).
You are correct that they don't really matter too much below high 700s and up, however there will be some gains to be had up top as well as being a tad bit deeper sounding. As far as brand if you're wondering, Kooks and ARH stand tied for first, but you can't go wrong with most headers out there these days. |

i am having this same debate with myself now. I am going to go 2" for sure but having a hard time deciding on TSP or Kooks. I almost pulled the trigger on a deal Maryland speed set me up with but the price difference between the 2 brands is stopping me.

Go for Kooks and though I have no experience with Maryland personally, I know a lot of people that complain about insanely long wait times (5+ weeks) with no updates.

+1. I'm going on 17 weeks without headers after ordering from them... Yeah, you might save $100 or so, but you'll be waiting... and waiting...

If all else is a non-issue (fitment, quality, etc), then go with 2". Why leave anything on the table? Plus one day you might find yourself searching for 800 or more. Prepare for it now. You can't go wrong with Kooks, TSP, ARH, any of them. I am probably going with TSP. I'm not sure there are extensive wait times as my friend ordered a set for his supercharged SS a few weeks ago and got them within days. And instead of ordering from MS there are quite a few vendors and reps you can order from who will save you money by giving you free shipping. I think my quote came out to like $675 or something. I don't remember, it was a while ago. But either way you go in size or brand you'll be happy.
