Hey Kurt,

Have you used this, and if so who did you like it? I've got a towel with the rubberized backing, but I keep going back to clay .

Kirk question for you, and others (not important enough for its own thread): if you are going to do a pre-wash foam soak that you simply apply, let sit, and then rinse......do you start by rinsing the car first? Or do you shoot the foam directly onto the dry car? I usually rinse first but have seen others apply the foam without rinsing first. Made me wonder what others do.

I do use this block. It does a good job and fits the hand well.

I isually rinse first but shooting foam first may be better since you will have some lubrication for the initial movement of the dirt on the surface.

I use different clay types for different jobs. I like really fine clay for cars in great condition and rubber clay blocks, mitts or polisher pads for neglected cars.

That’s what I was thinking. Not that there is a right answer. It’s either:
A) soap dry car to provide encapsulating lube
B). Rinse loose dirt off first to allow soap to penetrate the deeper grime
