11.4 on e58

I got a little impatient and I was down to .3 gals of gas when I added 5 gallons of the e85 to the tank,
the logs read 58% content so it was what it was. I only enabled the sensor and I did not alter any PE/torque tables/shift points/rev limits etc. I did take out the TM in the trans though. I'm open to suggestions for next weeks attempts to better my times. I did back half 25.5 on my best pass.

Overall I am happy with my baseline passes (but not my 60') so I have some data logs to look over and go at it again next week with hopefully a higher percent of ethanol. I did try Brett's "modified idle smash" on 2 of my 5 passes but it didnt seem to work yet, i'll keep at it.

Stock manifolds and exhaust, stock converter. Mods are drag pack, ported IM/TB and Rotofab
Race weight was 3725 driver included. DA was 400Name: 20170509_220952-1.jpg

While I was sitting on my hands for 3 weeks waiting for the weather to get better in the northeast, I tried my luck at hydrodipping for the first time. It's not perfect but it's different so i'll leave it for now. I wish the photos didn't come out sideways, how do I fix that ?Name: 20170503_120620.jpg

Solid runs bro. Did you gain anything by removing the torque management?

Thanks. I would say yes, but I cannot confirm by how much.

I can say the car does bang hard through the gears without the TM.

Awesome. Considering your tune is turning on E85 and turning off TM.

When racing you I could not red light enough to make it close.

Looking good man. Turning TQ Mgt off most definitely helps these A8s!

We will get you sipping on the corn next week and then see what your Beast is capable of doing, maybe we'll be fender to fender.

Thanks man. Yeah no doubt, before it would feel like you pulled the lions tail with a pass.....now it feels like you poked it with a hot iron.

Very nice isn't it amazing how your MPH is still close to your previous best and yet you get down there quicker with the same 60? A 40 or so bump in HP won't do a ton to the 60 in much the same way weather won't effect it. You are matching MPH that you needed fall air for before this. The hydrodipping came out absolutely sick I love it

Amazing! What a great car this gen 6 is. Only out for a year and a half and people cracking 10's with bolt ons (I expect you to reach your goals this year). I was trying to reach high 12's with my fifth gen and a few bolt ons, now I run solid 11s on stock tires with little done on my 6th gen.

Thanks for throwing my technique under the bus bro. LOL. Keep working on it, you will improve. Are you still running those monster truck tires in the back with the 3.73 gear? I see 10's in your future just like ULTRA.

I am aligned with your thinking, the only difference is that my previous best was holding fourth gear to attain that speed, my mph when shifting into 5th was identical to yours (118ish). I did try and hold the gear on one of these passes but the car needed the shift to cross, that particular pass was a 11.56 @119 with a rev limit stumble 60' before the line.

You did the math way back when (I double checked and agreed) that if you can hold fourth gear through the traps that you will shave .04ish in et and gain 2 mph. I am not quite ready to give up on the tall tire theory yet, if I can get my 60' down to where the short tire guys are (or close) and be able to raise the rev limit to say 67-6800 rpm and hold it....I can roll back in the potential/documented gains of .04 because the car is not coasting while the shift is taking place.

Appreciate the comment on the hydrodip too

I totally agree, the car continues to impress.

Ha, I am open to any help I can get so I'll keep trying.

Yes on the truck size tires (28.7 tall) and the 3.73's stare at me everytime I enter the garage. I would like to get the car running consistent before I swap out the diff so my data will be solid....my thinking is 2-3 weeks to line out the car and then swap to see the gains or losses. I am excited to see if it helps us.
