The one that matches the exhaust flow needs of your engine.
With our engine size the default starting point would be 1 7/8". Going smaller could choke flow of your engine and cause power loss throughout you RPM band.

Going to big, 2", can cause other issues. 1 7/8 will serve 80% off owners that remain stock or do bolt ons. Once F/I and internals are done, 2" would be the proper choice.

1 7/8ths give you more power total than 1 3/4 in back to back testing. 2 inch gave a little more up top but lost lower on the curve. Ted Jannety (JRE) did all this testing some time ago. Look for those threads. Very helpful.

So for a bolton car 1 7/8 are the best choice and will give you around 15 RWHP as Bradford said. 2" may be better if you are going H/C or SC.
