ZL1 Engine shake

I know I have only had this car for 3 days, but sitting at idle the engine shakes way more than I think it should. I am hoping it will smooth out.

Is anyone else feeling this shaking?

Define "shakes"....Chances are the engine mounts in the ZL1 are stiffer than most cars...and....that's a big engine put up front there.

My 4-cyl cars purr and I can't feel the engine except when I start them...but my two Camaros vibrate and shake themselves....as they should.

If it's wild and uncontrolled...maybe a service check?

Compare your car to another one at the dealership. It is a muscle car, so some character at idle is part of its charm.

Yes, my GT350 shook also but a little less. When I first come to a stop, I can't feel the motor, but when it calms down to "save that gas" idle, it has that "miss" and minor shake. I am not really worried about it. I was just wondering.

...wait until you put a large 700 lift cam mod... you won't need to shake your protein mix!

I do know what the different cams can do and they can shake like a Harley. But they sound so good when you get on it. It will give you a rush. Growing up, if your car did not shake, you were going to lose the race.

Try using Zmax, it will makes things super lubricious and quiet both engine noise and vibrations from high friction metal-metal...

Have used in my 2 previous BMW M5 V10's, two previous Carrera C2S, Golf GTi, R, and S550 Merc.... makes the engine absolutely purr and run like a sewing machine without terrible chain and metal noise. Lets the true engine induction and exhaust sounds come through without the metal on metal rattle.

I am going to put my flame suit on but have never had any oil issues with ANY of these cars and a few more when I used Zmax. You will notice an immediate improvement after adding it to warm engine and then it will keep getting better and better with more heat/cool cycles.

That would my first recommendation. I use only the engine oil formula, don't bother with the gas additive portion.

And one last thing... a lot of questionable data out there but I will add my voice to the legend Carroll Shelby...

Koolness, I just looked at Zmax. Pretty nice...they even use it for firearms. Then I can bring my Bushmaster AR-15 223 with me in the ZL1.

One more anecdotal evidence of n=3; after Zmax, the engine on-off start function on the C2S, S550, and Focus RS are now super smooth and imperceptible where as before the car would shake a little on restart....

I am going to say it's going to be normal. The LS and LT engines shake from the factory.
