Circle D 248mm Billet 4C, first impressions.

I have to start out saying that I think Chris and the guys at Circle D knocked it out of the park with this converter. It will drive basically like stock on the stock trans settings if you drive like a normal human being. If you have your car cranked up like I do and get a little to aggressive it will show you who is boss. The best of Jeckle and Hyde. I learned my lesson on the first drive.

I am working on getting the tune nailed down for it for the street and track to have everything the way I like it. I am battling a fueling/ loss of power issue right now that is getting resolved today. But even with that my MPG is roughly the same on my normal driving and I was able to drop .13 average on my 60fts, .14 average in the 1/8th and .08 at the end of the track. This was in +1K DA over my best stock converter times with my current set up. I was still able to achieve my best ET even though my lack of power issues cost me around 4mph over all.

I was able to cut a 1.473 and 1.481 60fts. I am not sure if anyone has gone lower than that. With a bolt on car I know the next best 60ft is a 1.55 with a 26" tire. I expect that 60ft to drop to a 1.45 or so when I get my power issues lined out and get the trans tune to where this car and converter deserve.

So big thanks to the guys at Circle D. They build a heck of a converter for sure. Once I get my part done I think we are going to see some serious stuff start to happen.

I can't remember your combo but you are going to dig it. That first launch rattled me a little bit at the track. I wasn't expecting the car to leave like it did on the first test hit.

Nope, I didn't have any homies there taking pics. I am sure it will do it again and possible better. I would be willing to bet a pay check there was some light under the fronts though.

Awesome man!! Yea, Chris and the rest of the folks at Circle D make a great product. I have a Single Disc 5C in my 5th Gen and consistently 60ft in the 1.42/1.43 area code. Did a best of 1.40 last year.

Wow. That must just feel nasty leaving the line.

I was honestly expecting to run what your 5th Gen runs on Sunday. I was planning on taking that top spot back. It hurts not being able to say I have the fastest bolt on car any more.

So, I've never driven a car with an aftermarket converter. How is it to drive on the street with one of these? I've been trying to find one for these cars but, I have been unsuccessful thus far. Also, if I don't plan on going quite as far as you did with bolt ons, etc., I assume that there is still some benefit to having it, even for those of us who do not go to the track...?

The converter drives really well for what it is. I am actually shocked at how stock it drives for how high the stall is. Unless you are grudge racing on the street I would just leave it be. The stock converter is really good. Any step above the stock converter is basically where I am at from what I am tracking. On street tires with this converter it is just a smoke fest. I don't think even a drag radial will have a chance on the street now. I think Chris or one of the guys at Circle D will be the best to answer your questions. I am going to send him the link and see if he will chime in.

I think we're just as excited to bring this converter to market as y'all are to run it. Very trick piece. If anybody has any questions, feel free to post up or PM us with questions. Happy to help...

A higher stall torque convertor is one of the best mods and offers big gains. It took my bolt on 4th Gen Camaro from 12.6 to 11.9.

I had a Yank 3600 and driving around town it really wasn't too noticable.
