Interchangable Parts
Anybody have a feel if any 1LE parts, brake calipers, splitter, dive planes, etc. will be interchangeable with the "Standard" ZL1? I am assuming the CF rear wing will be.

I'm working on a post with some of these details...had a nice conversation with Adam Barry, exterior designer.
Basically...everything aesthetic fits, since the car is still a ZL1. The splitter requires the grill to connect to, and dive planes require the auxiliary vent inserts to connect to. But the front fascia is identical. The brake calipers are identical, just red. The wing bolts to the same deck lid holes as the standard ZL1 uses. What I haven't gotten confirmation on is whether or not the wheels will fit, being as wide as they are. Signs are pointing to no, on that. |

Of course this begs the question of whether or not the parts will be available to purchase for non-1LE ZL1s? I can't imagine GM stocking large inventories of these parts. If I remember correctly, GM would not allow the purchase of the 5th gen Z/28 wheels for non-Z/28 Camaros. Could we see something similar with the ZL1 1LE parts because inventories supplies will be reserved for repair and warranty work of existing ZL1 1LEs only?

If the ZL1 1LE is using the same size front fenders then I bet those DSSV front struts are how they are able to clear those massive front wheels and tires. So I would say no they wont fit a regular ZL1.

I can see the wheels possibly but I can't imagine the aero parts being constrained for aftermarket purchase. If so Katech as well as a half a dozen carbon companies will be spitting them out. |

I am with you. I do not want to give up my A10 nor my convert. The car might look pretty snappy with some 1LE goodies on it. |
