Brake Cooling on 1LE

Has anyone confirmed if the 1LE comes with the same brake cooling deflectors to be installed for track days as the standard SS Camaro?

I am almost positive I read somewhere that both the 1LE and the ZL1 came installed from the factory with them. Didnt you get your car? Go verify for us !

I got to see the car briefly before heading out of town for thanksgiving. I didn't check the trunk to see if the parts came uninstalled.

Had to hunt this down....

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showpo...5&postcount=40

So these were on the 1LE.... Don't know if they are on it from the factory....or if they come in the trunk.
So really, this post is meaningless.. ahahaha

LOL! I appreciate your confirming it does make use of the deflectors though. I'll have an answer for you guys once I take delivery.

The brake cooling ducts are integrated into the front fascia.

I posted a couple of (bad) pics to give you an idea what they look like.

They are permanently installed.

looked under the car yesterday. Looks like if they are on there they don't hang as low as the SS deflectors.

I don't think the SS deflectors are the same as the 1LE's "vane" that directs brake-duct air right at the caliper/rotors.

Though I could be incorrect...

I wonder how different this "vane" is between the 1LE and ZL1??? I mainly ask because those large opening on the ZL1 fascia look perfect for giant brake ducts, but at the same time I know the Auxiliary coolers for both cars are located there. So is that opening on the ZL1 mainly for brake cooling or improved airflow to the aux coolers???

If I recall correctly, the brake ducts on both cars feed primarily from the center-low grille opening. The side ports on ZL1 are for increased flow to the auxiliary heat exchangers.

I'll bet the vanes are the same size on both cars...simply directing brake duct air towards the brakes.

So this makes me think it shouldn't be super complicated to put the ZL1 fascia on a 1LE. aka they have the same brake ducts so there isn't any extra ducting you have to worry about.

And yes I know you would need to swap the front fenders as well.

Ahhh...maybe.

From what I understand there's a host of unique air dams and chutes up front to direct air flow one way or another on the ZL1.

The 1LE's front fascia is (as I understand it) identical to the SS...brake ducts, and all.
