Bitch'in
You bet, but this is not about the Z. It's a place where you can offload your negative experiences in buying (or trying to buy) your Z. No solutions are offered - that is not even the purpose of this thread. All CAMARO6 forum rules must apply.
Well here goes my experience. On 08/03/2015 I put a deposit on a 2016 ZL1 with my dealer. This is a dealer which I had been doing a lot of business with through their service department and was extremely pleased with. On 11/12/2015 (3 months later) they returned my deposit when they learned that no 2016 ZL1s would be built. On 03/16/2016 (4 months later) I put a deposit on a 2017 ZL1 with my dealer who told me that they could get an allocation. On 12/23/2016 (9 months later) I visited my dealer and was informed that my preliminary order had been created (event code 1100). On 01/09/2017 (1 month llater) I checked Chevy chat and found out that my status had not advanced beyond 1100. No problem - only 89 coupes - odds were low anyway. On 02/15/2017 (1 month later) I checked Chevy chat - still at status 1100. I visited my dealer (I won't name) and after some conversation had it confirmed that I DID NOT have an allocation. By now I had been waiting 19 months for a ZL1. Due to the lost time not having a valid allocation, panic had set in. I feared that Becky and Mike were out of allocations and feared that I was not going to get a 50th year model. I went to New England's largest Chevy dealer and learned that their branch in New Hampshire had two on order. Luckily they were unspoken for and one was in my color. They would only let it go for $4,000 ADM (additional dealer markup). Due to my afore mentioned state of panic, I jumped all over this and signed up for the deal. I am aware that many would have had an issue with this. This order was already at event code 3000. Additionally, this Z was fully loaded with about $2,600 worth of options that I had not originally ordered and was lacking $620 in LPO dealer installed items (mostly floor mats) that I HAD ordered (no problem). So ... unless the Universe has some other surprise for me, the experience has cost me about $6,600 more but I will not have lost any time if the original order had been valid. That's my story.

Thanks guys - that 03/15/17 date was just last week, so it indeed was 02/15/17! Boy am I embarassed! More panic had set in than I had realized. Once I calm down, I will edit my post. Thanks again and thanks for your much needed support and not teasing me about the ADM. Just saw the top speed report (198 mph average) makes me want this beast all the more. My first born is stronger than I am so paying ransom was the choice I opted for.

By the way, I just gotta add that Big Al O. Is the MAN. I totally respect the dedication and tender loving care that Al and his team put into this ZL1. It's really that which made the choice easy over the Hellcat. So I am willing to put my money where my mind is.

Although I dont like ADM, I'd still pay it up to a point on a car I intend to never sell to ensure I get the exact one I want
