Slight metallic noise after shutdown (just pulley noise?)
Hi all, I notice when I shut down my LT1 in my garage (tunes off, windows down) right after the engine turns off I hear a slight metallic sound for like a second. I think it is just a pulley coming to rest, can anybody confirm?
Thanks - |

I hear the same noise, I think it's normal. I've got 14k on mine and haven't had any engine issues.

There was a thread on the 5th gen side a long time ago...the winning theory was something to do with the HID headlights....no idea though.

This is definitely not that...sounds like a pulley slowing to a stop for like half a second after the engine shuts down.

Do these things have a gyroscope of some kind to aide the nannies? Might be something still spinning a few seconds after a shutdown....I'm probably way over thinking it hahah. I watch too much TV.
I'd think anything in the engine making the noise could be easily verified with a partner.
