I'm wondering how well the factory splash guard paint holds up. Seems they would chip from rocks then show black plastic chips under the paint, just like the lower body parts and wheel well lips do ?

I have the Summit White SS1LE and may go with the black guard's for this reason, since they wont show the chips near as easy and should also look good.

Any feed back on this would be appreciated from guys that have been running them awhile.

I put the factory splash guards on my Fifty when it was new. Still no chip marks but I haven't had to drive on a gravel road yet. If it chips, I'll repaint or touch up.
