Eff it! I may pull the trigger tonight. '17 1SS
Tired of the back and forth with dealers. One local I've been talking to has a nightfall gray 1SS manual, NPP, black wheels (gray w/black wheels.....talk about "incognito mode" LOL), illuminated bullsh!t chevy emblem, cargo mat (could care less, probably adds weight if it's rubber LOL), cargo net (I like these). If I buy it I'll be getting some all rubber floor mats up front for sure.
msrp:39580 offering at 36580. Of course I'll try to get lower when I show up. The car has 7 whole miles on it so hasn't been test driven much obviously. |

I'll try but they'll tell me to pound sand most likely. I could always just walk out. But nobody at least via email is going near $5K off. Here in San Diego...it's nice year round. Dealers don't have cars sitting in the cold with snow on them. That could be part of it.

There will be better deals but it may not be the color you want, etc.
Your deal isn't too bad, work them a bit more and get the damn thing lol Nightfall gray on black rims, that's a wicked combo! |

36400 lowest they'd go. $40k OTD. They were about 800 less then book on my trade. Told them 10k trade. $38k OTD for the SS. They told me no can do. I walked.

Yeah I'm not. Actually the car is sorta overkill for my needs most of the time. Work from home. Drive a mile or 2 per day during the week often. That's why I don't care that much. If I get a killer deal, great. If not driving my 2yr old 1.8t Jetta SE with 24k mi is hardly a penalty.

That sounds pretty good to me, of course the more off MSRP the better but $3k off isn't bad at all, I think.

No, it's not a bad deal. But it's just more than I want to spend. Something about $40K OTD for cloth seats, no heated seats, no lumbar support...seems too high. I really liked the car. I guess it would have done it if I wanted it bad enough for that price.

Based on the numbers you gave, they're already at invoice and probably giving up most of their holdback on that car. Considering the incentives currently available, it seems like a very fair price. Sounds like it's just not the car for you if it's still too much.
At $38k out the door, they would be losing money on the deal, possibly thousands, especially with no trade. My bet is they won't be calling you back at the end of the month unless they really need to sell one more car to hit their quotas. Join Costco and go through their auto program, you can use the deal they offered and get a $700 costco cash card ($110 for Executive membership). That would sweeten it a little and costs the dealer nothing. Costco pricing is usually supplier pricing minus a bit, but you can use the deal they offered as well. |
