Typical Discounts on SS Camaros

What are typical discounts like on Camaro's? I've mainly only bought Honda's in the past and am an expert at getting the best price on those (there aren't as many options available).

It looks like Chevy has a plethora of rebates (supplier, employee, recent grad, military, farm, etc). I'm only interested in an SS with 6 speed. What kind of price can I expect to pay? I have seen websites advertise a 2017 SS 1SS, 6 speed with few if any options for about $35.4k. Is it possible to get a better price than this?

Is there a best time of year to purchase? (winter is pretty much here now in the midwest).

thanks for any advice.

John

buy now dude, ask for the GM 20% off a 2016 and an additional 6% in dealer discount. That is good to go through November.

Thanks. I looked into this and missed out on a locally based 2016 SS 1SS convertible for $34k. It looks like chevy has sold all of the 2016 SS's now. There are some remaining 2016's but they don't have the 20% off tags and the dealers I spoke with will only give 11% off. At that price, it is better to buy the 2017 (springtime). At least if you live in part of the country that has winter.

Do you know of any dealers with 2016's that would negotiate at the 20% off or greater level? There are quite a few 4 and 6 cylinders left, but I am not interested in those.

I saved 20% October 14th

I fortunately realized an excellent over $9000.00 discount for my 6 gen ( non-sunroof) with magnetic ride control, bright yellow, rally stripes, blackout bow tie and rear blackout between tailights ( added options ). My dealer gave me a screaming deal. At the time, there were very few 6 gens with my required Tremec 6 speed gearbox, only three in my area, there were many automatics. My salesman was a beast, he worked hard for me. "Strike while the irons hot", I hope it's not to late for you guys to get the 20% discount.

How do you get the 20% off? Is it just for 2016. I havn't seen a 2016 in these parts since early Oct. Lots of over priced over optioned SS 2017s mostly V6 and Automatics all over the dealer lots here.

Look on cars.com and start calling, Tellem you want the 20 plus 6 percent off or you are not interested; you will find one soon.

2016 models only, use cars.com to find what you want then call the dealers Internet department and demand 20 plus 6 percent off; if they say no, move on to the next dealer.

The 2016's left are mostly heavily optioned 2SS coupes and convertibles. If I could get 26% off though, that would change my mind. Like I said in my original post, I missed out on a local 2016 SS 6speed convertible for around 34k.

The other dealers I spoke with say that Chevy only gave them so many "tags" to put on cars of their choice for the 20% off. My impression was that this money comes from GM to them. So I'm skeptical how a dealer could offer 20% off on their own. But, either way, I'll try a few on Monday and see if I can find 26% off.

I got 20% off - A8, 2SS, Mag ride, sun roof. Too good to pass up. Basically the same I paid for my 2011 2SS five years ago.

Dayum, what a car!

Checkout out RJ Chevy in Rochester, NY metro. They have a White /Black Stripe, 1SS Vert M6 with MRC: 20% tag plus $3,500 off...$35k.

The internet contact at their store is slime and I didn't get far enough with them to talk about BS fees.

Search autotrader.com and cars.com. Especially search the northern states that get snow. You will find all kinds of SS camaros that offer 25-30% off. 29% off mine a few weeks ago.
