LT1 CNC Cylinder Heads
There doesn't seem to be quite the market for cylinder heads as there was for the LS3, Partially due to it hasn't been out as long I am sure as well as the complex design requirements of the DI.... but the corvettes have been running the GenV for years now I figured we would see some more action.
I have not seen much in the way of cylinder head tech for them. PROVEN cylinder heads. I know companies like Vengeance and WeaponX have setups but there isn't very much results on how effective they really are The little results I do find are back from 2014. Has anyone found a set that makes sense ($ per HP) and that actually make power throughout the RPM band. Some of the flow charts I am reading aren't making power till 500 600 lift which frankly seems like a waste on a street car. Am I missing something? |

I will be working over a set soon. I will let you know what I come up with.
I think the missing part is the labor it takes to do H/C and the cost involved vs. just going FI. Plus at 59cc's and with the piston design I am not sure how much room for PTV there is to get your DCR correct for the cams out there. People like LMR, Vengeance, Weapon X have all been doing them for a while with good results from what I have seen. To me, it just seems to be a big runner with not a lot of flow from the factory. I am sure there is a bunch that can be done. I just haven't purchased a core head to mess with yet. Now that the MSD manifold is out as well you may see more builds that can take advantage of the extra flow.

I mean if I am going to put a cam in and have to take the heads off and apart anyway, I might as well but a nice set of cylinder heads back on... Let me know what you come up with, I would be very interested in results. |

I guess the only real way to test it would be cam first, test, then heads. I don't think ported heads would do much of anything with the stock cam.
