How much weight do Carbon Fiber hoods and trunk lids save?
Can a carbon fiber hood make the added weight of a supercharger a wash?
I have not seen any gen 6 cf hoods for sale yet either, have you? What "should" they cost, $1000 each or less? |

Generally, if you have an aluminum hood (like our car's and many new cars are getting) you will not experience a weight savings. If you do, it won't be very much of a savings.
Right now, they are for looks unless someone develops an even lighter material or manufacturing technique.

the company i work for should be released some styles soon but they are fiberglass base with carbon fiber on top so the weight savings will be minilar unless its 100% carbon fiber or dry carbon fiber.
I had a trunk and hood on my old car cobalt ss and it saved some weight but mostly for looks
