2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT Power Packs

http://www.motortrend.com/news/ford-...rd-mustang-gt/

As an FYI I am posting this, not taking sides just posting.

Aw screw it, I will take sides, our Camaro SS will still smoke the current gen Mustang GT. The differences are more than just a few horsepower.

The CARB EO for the packs is kind of a big deal...

It's pretty damn cool that Ford is doing that for Mustang owners, ESPECIALLY the tune and retaining the warranty (as long as they are installed by a Ford tech from what I've heard). Good option for GT owners looking for some more power without having to sacrifice their warranty.

Yeah and since they need to be installed by a Ford Tech, they are making money on the service side as well.

Come on GM.

Yea it'd be nice if GM offered packages like Ford with tunes and warranties. Odds are I'm going to end up voiding mine within the first year of ownership lol. But this would be a great option for people who want to retain their warranty yet add a bit of a performance bump.

The Power Packs+ the FRPP track handling pack and FRPP sport exhaust would make for a very potent car for roughly the cost of a 1SS auto.

This is one thing that Ford def deserves credit for. They are always catering cars to their consumers. I think this plays a big part in the popularity of the cars, and the Allegiance that Mustang owners have.

They're also forcing customers into an ecoboost, so I don't know about the catering part. They did it with the F150 and are doing it with the Mustang now.

"Forcing customers into an Ecoboost?" I cannot recall the last time any auto manufacturer made my purchasing decision for me. Lol Please explain?

How are they forcing people into the Ecoboost in the F-150? Last time I checked you can get the 3.5 V6, the 2.7 Eco, the 3.5 Eco and the 5.0?

Unless you are saying they are forcing them because they dropped the 6.2 that almost no one bought.

As far as the power packs for the Mustang it is a great idea for the person who wants a bit extra, doesn't really know anything about cars or turning wrenches or doesn't want to go aftermarket.

They don't offer packages on the v6 Mustang. You want a Mustang and a nicer interior? Must get ecoboost or v8 trim. They could have done some work on the 3.7 and stock for stock have it be a better engine than the 2.3 ecoboost.. Actually, it probably is anyway.

Ford was pushing the ecoboost down dealers throats over the 5.0 from what I have heard. The 5.0 could have also been better on the F150..

Chevy has offered similar packeges on like, the Cobalt SS. It would be nice if they offered a dealer installed Eforce...I would use my credit card!

Yea that's the last time I remember GM offering any type of upgrade packages for one of their cars. Not sure if they have done it since or not.

Edit: They could do the stage packages for the turbo 4, that'd be pretty cool and possibly some very good gains too, just like with the cobalt.
