Water injection

Let's talk water injection on the LGX. As you may have seen, Bosch is offering a water injection system now to manufacturers to have WI on new vehicles straight out of the factory.

There is a thread in the General Automotive subforum about the Bosch WI.

I use water injection on my turbo diesel. I don't know much about WI in a gas engine. The turbo diesel runs on waste vegetable oil and the WI helps blast the injector tips clean. It seems that with the direct injection engine, we would also want to use WI.

Snow Performance has the most advanced WI system.

I would use water only. I think to use methanol you need a tune. Install is easy. You drill and tap the intake manifold and install water atomizer spray nozzles. The nozzles activate based on boost pressure, so you have to find a boost source and install a boost gauge.

Anybody have any knowledge, opinions or ideas?

A good time to install the WI system would be when you install a ported throttle body as the atomizers are installed upstream of the throttle body.
