Outnumbered at cruise night!

So last night had the most cars we've had at a regular cruise night all year, 300+ easy.
I made two passes and the Gen6 was outnumbered at least 10 to 1 by the gen 6 Mustang and I almost missed the one 2SS car that did show up. What gives? Is it that younger people that typically go cruising can afford the M6G easier? I saw my first GT350 on the street too, so I'm not so sure about that being the case though. Where are the Camaro's?

well....first off, it took me a bit to figure out what you were referring to as I didn't know what a M6G is...... but the reason you see more gen 6 Mustangs is that they have been out over a year longer. They were first introduced as a 2015 model.

Same here. I googled M6G not knowing what it was and the first result was a gun.

Well, based on US sales it looks like there are over 150,000 2015/16 mustangs vs. maybe 50k gen 6 Camaros sold. I see a lot of Mustangs on the road, most of them look like the rental v6 convertible variety though. I see fewer GTs and a rare shelby.

People with Gen6 Camaros do not like going to those car shows that Mustamgs frequent. Mustang drivers attempt burn outs when leaving and smash into other cars, it's not safe.

Mustang sells better and it's also been on sale for a year longer.. That simple.

This is just stirring up facts that have been beaten to death on this forum: The Mustang was on sale longer, and even if they both came out at the exact same time, it's dominating in sales by a very hefty margin. It's a more radical upgrade from the previous generation and is cheaper. The 5th gen Camaro also did a great job meeting pent up demand after it was off the market for years. It's not rocket science.

Exactly right. This thread is just a continuation of the monthly sales thread, pointless.

We all know the numbers, that doesn't equate to being outnumbered 10 to 1. It should be 3 to 1.

I dont think it's due to the move to upmarket b/c there were several C7's.

Exactly, who cares? Actually the OP was not the person with the Gen6. I would prefer to have the less popular car, it stands out.

True that. The gt350 was the only one that got any attention, and it was mostly the other mustang guys that were able to distinguish what it was from the rest of them. I guess I'm just disappointed that the one place I should have been able to see a Gen6 rolling around and what it looks like compared to other modern muscle cars as well as classics and it wasn't there save for one guy.
