Infotainment Adjustment
As a 55-year-old who just came from an 11-year-old Pontiac GTO with a six-disc CD changer, the whole MyLink/Infotainment system is by far my biggest adjustment. Have my first iTunes account. Anyone else in my category?

Well, I do wish it had a CD player built in, for convenience.
On the other hand, my whole CD collection is on a 160GB iPod, and I can play that through the car stereo, so I guess I am not too bothered by the lack of a CD player.

The simplest thing to do, especially if you have a load of CDs is to rip them to your computer and save them to a flash drive. Plug your flash drive in the USB port and forget it's there. You'll have all your music in your car and without taking up half the space in your center console.

You can import your CDs into iTunes. Within iTunes you can create playlists (such as Country, Rock, etc.)
You can then export the desired playlists to a thumb drive (USB). Plug the drive into the USB port, select USB as the source on your infotainment and you are in business. By the way, I'm older than you!

I've been using a flash drive since 2012, the nice thing about the 6th gen is it works even better, indexes waaaay faster so you don't have to sit and wait for MyLink to load your music.

My 14y/o son introduced me to SPOTIFY...If you have a phone, forget everything else! You can also use on your computer/etc....and download. I run thru Mylink/Info by Bluetooth on my GS7 edge and it sounds FANTASTIC....you also have other choices. The music choices are endless and you can set up how you want....IT IS EASY FOR US "OLD FOLKS" TO DO! I have 200 rock/heavy Metal songs, 150 Alternative songs, 65 AC/DC songs, 50 Country, and some Reggae and Rap! The Free Service is OK...I just set up 10 song groups and Shuffled through them...I went ahead and got 3 Months for .99 cents and if I choose it will be $9.99 a month...or whatever my next deal is...you can cancel anytime. I told my son that he is good for something other than eating, sleeping, and pooping! ![]() ![]() lol

I decided to have some fun with my Camaro WiFi network name because I know that some people like to sniff around and see if they can get onto other people's networks. I called mine: Surveillance Van 7 Hopefully, that scares the crap out of any punks.

I have the 3 gig per month plan through AT&T. I always end up rolling a couple gigs over each month so the data thing is no issue for me. Just a couple of points on the data, if you have AT&T, Onstar has some kind of deal with them so that you can have your Camaro added as another line to your account. That costs about $10 a month. That way anybody in your car can help you use your data. I don't see the point in this unless your car has better reception than your phone does. Another thing is you can do one time Gig purchases. $5 will buy you 250 megabytes for a day, which is a lot in one day. I have 810 miles, mostly city, on my car and have only used about 190 m of data.
I will most likely just use the data on my phone when my 3 months of free onstar data expires.
