Hooker makes NPP-compatible exhaust

Been reading a few threads, and I'm not entirely sure that we knew about this. Hooker actually has a cat-back (or axle back) system for NPP-equipped cars that retains the factory swapping mechanism.

It appears that there are 2 options. One with a single "transverse muffler" that is milder and another with dual-mufflers that is deeper.

What's up with the dyno gains though.......they seem a bit lofty.
Kinda seems too good to be true. And you know what they say about things that sound too good to be true. But if those dyno gains are real, certainly would be worth seriously considering.

Hi, here are the dyno graphs for both axle backs. The Camaro6 was indeed very responsive to a better flowing system, not to mention eliminating the restricted crushed tubes. Hope these graphs help.

You know what? Anytime a company is willing to post scientific results (dyno graphs of their products), it goes a LONG way to getting me to buy their products. Much better to see the area under the entire curve than just a "increases HP by 20!" line.

Also, had the 1.75" LT headers on my 2000 Trans Am road racing in the GT1 class. Loved them!

These are for the axle back kits or cat back?

Why so? This is in line with most other companies pricing for aftermarket NPP cat backs.

Yeah, as per Texas Speed's site, prices are:

- Dual muffler cat-back - $1849
- Single muffler cat-back - $1749
- Single muffler axle-back - $1012

Don't see a dual muffler axle-back on the site.

Wow. Now I'm impressed! I think this may have to go on my list of mods to get.
I wouldn't have thought that much could have been gained.

Those prices are exactly why I didn't order the NPP. It does sound great! But just isn't loud enough for me. I knew that I'd want to upgrade it. I couldn't stand the thought of paying $900 for one exhaust, just to turn around and spend another fortune on another because of the electronic valves. Maybe I'm cheap, but $1200-$1850 for a prefabbed kit that you'll still pay another $150-300 to have welded up is just nuts! I do wish that I had the NPP painted rear diffuser but I can buy one for $220 and have it painted for another $100. I've recently ordered Flowmaster 10 mufflers, Jones X-pipe, Jones 6" flex pipes, and 4" double wall tips (all stainless steel and 3") for just under $300. I've already arranged it with my local exhaust/hotrod shop (used them many times), they do mandrel bends and can use stainless welding wire and will fab the whole thing up for $145 (2hrs labor) plus another $165 for 22ft of SS 3" pipe . So that will be a custom stainless steel complete cat back for $610. I'm not trying to rub it in, just trying to let people know that there are other cheaper options.
