Drivers seat back stuck all the way forward

10 days of ownership ... drivers seat back stuck and will not go back. Can't drive the car all hunched over. Feel the the HunchBack Of Notre Dame. Going to take it to service asap.

First model year of a ground up redesign built at a new factory with new workers.

This'll be fun.

(and that extended warranty is looking pretty good to me about now.)

My son used the electronic control to put the seat back forward on my old Camaro, I assumed he had used the release. I was trying and trying to pull the seat back...obviously it wouldn't budge. I felt like a real idiot when I hit the controller and watched the seat back slowly go right back in place. Did you put the seat forward using the release, or did someone else put the seat back forward. It would be nice if it was just the same issue I had.

Happened when this guy was tinting my windows. He said he used the electric controller and also used the manual release. Now it is just stuck forward. Something must have disengaged somehow. I can hear the motor working and the seat move ever so slightly, but it just will not return, like it should.

IMO ... I think upper seats backs should be controlled manually not electronically.

Why did he use both? What have you tried to get it to go back? Probably everything...

I tried everything ... brought it to the dealer and there like wow never seen this happen. Of course not ... they played with it and said let the mechanics handle it and that was that. At least they were kind enough to give me a loaner ...

Don't know why he did both. I guess it you needed to get back there ... you would first move the seat all the way forward and then MANUALLY release the upper seat back. The electronic controls are for driving comfort.

Right...I understand him moving the entire seat forward, but it he used the electronic control to move the seat back all the way forward it won't go any further when you pull the manual seat back release. At least in my Gen 5 that's the way it was.
I guess it could be a number of things. I know there isn't much room back there. I'm sure at some point even with e seat all the way forward.
Glad they gave you a loaner and are getting it taken care of you. I can't imagine driving it like that lol

Until/if you figure out what caused it, might want to be careful using both the manual and electric seatback controls. There may be a sequence where, if you move the seat electrically first and then move it even more manually (or vice versa), some part of the mechanism might go beyond it's design limits and either break something or the track go past the point there it can engage the motor sprockets. Kinda like if you hold the little latches on the sides of a filing cabinet drawer while pulling out.

Just a thought.

What's funny is that while driving to the dealership from the tint shop a year 14 drove up next to me and started laughing as he saw me all hunched over in the drivers seat. How dam embarrassing that was.
