Wide Open Throttle WOT
For those with a 1SS and 2SS I have a question. When you open up your Camaro (WOT) what are the typical sounds your engine and exhaust produce? Pretty simple question. Crackle, pop, etc. I guess I'm talking mostly about exhaust sounds. The engine is mostly strong. What have you experienced? Any funny noises? I appreciate your feedback.

I have had my 1SS with M6 and NPP for 2 weeks Cannot go WOT with only 400 miles on the car. NPP is great and no loose-part rattles some have experienced on this forum. I put axle-back Flowmaster exhaust in my 2010 1SS and it allowed me to hear the engine well enough to hit shift points, but it droned some on freeway, SOOO NPP is much better because you can let it be loud when desired. Only problem I have is when I start the 2016 in the gargage even when car is in Toursing or Now/Ice mode, it starts too loud and holds revs at 1200 for 30 secs which is enough to disturb the neighbors at 6am. Get the NPP it works well and is not costly, unless you want whole new exhaust including headers at significantly greater expense. And thanks for your service.

If you add milk to the fuel it snaps, crackles, and pops.

Thanks, it does pop between gears. I guess that must be normal. Lots of torque between gears.

My car makes lots of noise and a "winning" sound.

All I can say is every tunnel I hit I crack it wide open. The car sounds great, npp is perfect if you want factory exhaust and it exceeded my expectations. In my opinion it is louder than a challenger 392 with flowmasters on it. My favorite sound that the car makes is giving it gas in second and let off at mid 2K rpms, i love the burrpling that is makes.

It happened again yesterday. I got on it and it was really strong. However, when I backed off it stayed really tight for a few seconds like the transmission was really wounded too tight. Anybody experienced that who has an A8? I was kind of concerned for a minute, but then I realized that it is a Corvette engine and I do have a 3-year warranty. I'm not abusing my car. One should be able to "get on it", right? Your input.

You actually have 5 year power train warranty. Drive it like you stole it...after the break in procedure. I haven't been WOT yet, I've been North of 4,000 RPMs a couple of times. But I'm still trying to take it easy.

The Lt1 with the A8 will bark when shifting at WOT, it's normal and programmed in , in that it saves the tranny from a hard shift. The bark is unburned fuel exploding. Was verified at a tech meeting at the Corvette Museum when the C7 came out.
