Do we know if the manual SS will have no lift shift?

Haven't read that it does or doesn't, but with the C7 manual having it, I thought maybe the SS would have this? Anybody heard anything?

It is a possibility that SS m6 has it too. I will check Saturday and get back to you unless we have someone who has driven the m6 that can confirm or deny here?

I know it has rev matching, if it had no lift shift it should be in the press by now.
I wouldn't try it

Maybe not in a press car LOL.

But otherwise it's called power shifting. When I used to race my 10 sec LS1 4th gen Camaro I used to never lift off the throttle until I was past the traps and by then I was in 4th gear. Depending on the car it can have a nice advantage when drag racing. People have been doing it for years, just need to be a very quick shifter...

No it does not. It is not mentioned at all in the manual (and it would be in the section with rev matching).

Probably saving it for 1LE.

NLS is mainly used in turbo cars to prevent boost pressure loss. The turbo Cobalt SS had it, why wouldn't they have it on the turbo Camaro?

You can enable rev-match on upshifts. You might call it "no lift shift", but it's really just rev matching for the next gear. This is the same feature on the ATS-V manual. You can watch the video of it in action on the track here:

You can hear the pop on upshifts, Randy briefly references it in the interview after driving the car. The ATS-V has the same paddles that enable/disable the feature in the same way.

This is no lift shift in the zl1. Don't know if it's the same as the atsv

and shred the gears if you miss.....

the only camaro that has had it up till now was the 5th Gen ZL1.

I would hope Chevy starts putting it on the M6 cars since it would help bring the performance numbers alot closer to the A8.....

I mean really it should be a no brainer... just as Auto Rev Match is an easy ECU solution to saving engine and driveline wear, so too would NLS.

ATS-V has it also.

Also, I 'm pretty sure that the Camaro manual states that ARM will only work if your foot is OFF the accelerator pedal.... which sucks because then NLS is not available...
:(

Gotta head out.... someone wanna confirm that ?

EDIT:

CONFIRMED.... page 215.... " rev match will NOT operate when accelerator pedal applied......

BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

ATS-V 2016 Manual page 243

NO LIFT SHIFT FEAUTRE ACTIVE ABOVE 2500RPM

[No similar mention in the Camaro manual]

it SHOULD be an easy ECU fix.... not sure why GM are being such party poopers... seems like Corvette/Caddy/ZL1 members only.

Rev matching is different than NLS. The base C7 does have NLS, but I don't know about the new Camaro. When done correctly the ECM will hold the throttle open at WOT, maintain full boost (on cars with a SC), keeping full spark and fuel through the shift without any intrusion from the rev limiter. The key is to execute a super fast shift right before the rev limiter.

Not really. The clutch is still engaging, the engine will just rev higher. Hence why you need to be quick.

Actually it would most likely make the manual surpass the automatic since they are only a tenth off in testing.

3.9/12.3
4.0/12.4

Ah, dang. I guess it isn't necessary in a N/A application, but it still woulda been neat to play with.
