Camaro 2SS vs GT350

Anyone else figuring out what car they want to buy and stuck between these two?
If the GT350 didn't have that motor it would be a no brainner. but it is sure making me run around in mental circles deciding between the two.

Decent difference in price. Fully loaded SS, high 40's...the GT350 starts at 50 and you need to basically add the tech or track packs which adds like 7 or 8 grand. Not to mention nearly every dealer wants a 10k markup on them due to low production.

If its a DD, the Camaro is clearly a better car for the job. The Camaro has better low RPM performance, better fuel economy, and is $10k less comparably equipped (not including dealer markups). According to Motor Trend's testing, the GT350 has no performance advantage of a Camaro SS, except above 6,000 RPM.

The GT350 will be a blast on a track, but you have to get the thing above 3,000 RPM to get any reasonable amount of power from it.

Exactly. OP needs to get a price quote on a GT350 before he starts thinking about it. More like cross shopping a C7 and GT350 in terms of price.

In my mind the GT350 will be the car to drive. that is what I am angling for.

8200rpm is sweet. I really think front the drivers seat it will be a different experience. than again my buddies 5.0 with cobra jet spinning 8k is just fun it needs to handle better.

the cost difference is decent though. I really like the looks of the GT350 quite a bit better as well.

they are kind of apples and oranges based on price but I honestly can't think of any person other than a fanboi that would say and SS has the advantage anywhere other than price and obviously looks are subjective so just because I think the GT350 looks better that's my preference. then you have the people running there mouth about ADM but people are buying at MSRP but not invoice yet. I am waiting till spring to buy my GT350 though as weather and pricing will be much better then.

the only other question is can you live with a C7???? I can't due to children but that is the vehicle I would pick up if children were not in the equation.

I would pick the Camaro for sure. Like you say, it's a no brainer, especially if the GT350 didn't have a motor...lol....

Camaro fan aside just plain old muscle/pony car fan, I do not like high revving engines. And where's the torque on this thing? Save that stuff for the imports. I dislike the exhaust note too especially in the high rpms. It's clear Ford is going euro in styling and mechanics.

I honestly would say the same thing about the camaro if it went this direction. It would piss me off. I don't want anything that revs past 7000 maybe a lil more and I must have torque. It makes me very happy that chevy stayed with the twin hp and tq numbers.

Styling wise, the new Mustang is not ugly (except for the rear end) it's just not my cup of tea. I actually liked the styling and the performance of the 11-14 mustang especially the super snake, they lost me a lil with the 15-16.

The gt350 does not interest me one bit. I think the ss is already in the same lane performance wise and I'm pretty certain the hipo camaro will beat it in a h2h.

I agree. Numbers don't tell the whole story with the gt350.

Need to get it on a track .

You're entitled to your opinion and I respect it, but I have a little two seater that were you to rev up to 7800 rpms I guarantee it would make your spine tingle.

Price aside the GT350 will be a better performance car. if you want the better of the two, get the ford.
