roof color question
My wife and I are getting a new metal roof and wrapping the fascia in aluminum. We are torn between a dark red roof, (similar to the current trim) with green fascia or the reverse. A green roof with red fascia. Any remaining exposed wood would match the trim color.
Opinions? https://goo.gl/photos/FAeftkNrDXm3x7Z78

I say red roof just cause it would pop more....you have such greenery all around the house including that green hill next to the house. I feel the green roof would blend in too much....I also feel green roof then red trim...well the red trim may dominate the house over the green roof. thats just my opinion. I am sure whatever you pick will look great. Good Luck

this is an extremely subjective topic. However, throughout my architectural career there has always been the rule of match or compliment. Because of the age/style of your home matching the existing trim color will most likely be overpowering. The color on the roof now is less saturated than a metal roof will be which provides a break to the eye. The best option here would be to go with either a neutral (aka charcoal, or as mentioned above copper). I generally lean away from green roofs as well because of how demanding the color is and how easily it draws the eye. If you want a splash of color on a home, the roof is generally not the piece to do it with.
