So quiet that has to ruin the fun into going to the race to hear the cars. That would be like muting the Tv during a NHRA funny car/top fuel race.

It's very very sad indeed. I loved this sport until last weekend. I now need to venture out into watching different motorsports. Anyone have any good leads on where to get race feeds etc... for someone who has only internet (no cable)?
