Hard to Please Camaro Owners??
Now that we are getting closer to seeing what the 6th Gen Camaro looks like, I see a ton of complaints. A lot of people saying they won't buy the 6th Gen. I too wanted a change. I wanted GM to pay homage to the 2nd or 3rd Gen Camaro. But alot of people barked at the idea of paying homage to a previous Gen.. So what do people want????...But I'm very fine with the 6th Gen being a highly evolved 5th Gen. In my opinion, the 1st and 5th Gens are the best looking Camaros anyway.. I think GM gets it right by building off of that success and getting inline with what many car companies do with there most successful cars. A radical change may have killed the Camaro..

Chevy knows what we want: Big nose/headlights, nice classy tail lights and performance that is why the 1st and 5th gens (2010-2013) were so successful and based on those renderings I saw I will most likely stick with my 5th gen or wait until Ford bumps the power of the ecoboost 4cyl.

If history repeats itself chevy/gm will build a car that "they" like and not pay attention to the customers, the cars will get tweaked and altered to their tastes and it will be shoved down our throats. Im one of those who said based on the de-camo'd renderings i would not buy a 6th gen. With the thin ice that gm is skating on from recalls and quality issues you would think they would at least listen to their customers about the appearance of their vehicles to help sell cars but they wont.

I'm not excited about the way the camo cars are looking but I realize that we haven't seen what it really looks like yet. It's getting really old seeing dummies on here posting like these renderings are gospel. They are just imagined drawings to pass the time till the real thing is revealed. The people threatening to not buy a sixth gen based on some yahoos drawing probably don't have the sense to take their car out of park to begin with and would have their opinion better received on another site, probably one of the Mustang variety.

Do not forget, North America is no longer the biggest car market. GM is kicking butt in the biggest. But if you think GM isn't listening.........................they may not be listening to you......................they have quietly done everything they know how to do for this car. Bank on it. That doesn't mean they do everything, in some cases they can't simply for business reasons. And DO NOT think that their is one answer. Again they may not give you what you want, but with a career in this industry there is only one certainty...............................YOU CAN'T SATISFY EVERYONE

IMO, GM as a whole has been headed in a good direction product wise since ~2009. Styling, power and chassis performance. For the first time in a long time I really like the Malibu! Get the details right Chevy! First in class acceleration, handling and interior. I believe the style can't miss if the basis is 1st and 5th. We can see any defining detail yet to bring it all together.

Chevy fully knows the weak reception the rear end styling got so I wonder if they made adjustments to the gen6.?.? Even in all these rendering, the rear hasn't gotten much attention and that is where I think the biggest change will be. The C pillar, rear glass, tail light, etc.

Although, a lot has changed under the hood with the new framework, but this body style has worn out in the eyes of customers after 5+ years. For people to dish out $40K for a new car with so many choices out, manufactures need to be creative and visionary. The 2016 is neither creative nor visionary from styling point of view. I'll bet you the sales will suffer for the next 5 years from the style and shape of the car I see. I wouldn't buy it because it doesn't appeal to me as "I want this car".
Same thing happened to the new Subaru WRX/STi, where the style suffered to entice customers and it's barely selling. I'd have loved to see designs based on gen 2 or 3. But it's too late now. The car is done... |

Here's one thing to keep in mind.
Complainers are ALWAYS going to be louder than those who like or are OK with it. When the 2014 was un-veiled, based on this site it would have been a total sales disaster and the Mustang would have easily overtaken the sales lead. But that didn't happen did it? For every complainer on this site, there are probably many more who do like it, or will like it when the real thing is revealed. For me, I'm on the fence, but I'm smart enough to realize that there are still significant details we haven't seen and I know I simply can't decide until I see the real deal. I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at you all who think based on a camo'ed car that its already ugly and a huge disaster for the Camaro. That's just silly talk right there. The only ones that can rightfully be disappointed right now are those that wanted something completely different than the 5th gen. But if you like the 5th gen, there is probably a good chance you are going to like this car as well.

First of all, the "yahoos" that are putting these renderings together to give us something to look at while we await the unveiling should be thanked, not ridiculed. And although I'm sure they are not dead on, you can see by some of the gif's, they line up very well with what we can see now.
Secondly - why don't you wait to complain until you see the real car and know the specs? And lastly - it's funny that everyone on here loves their 5th gen (clearly or you wouldn't be on here) but some hate that there don't appear to be a lot of major aesthetic changes. Everyone is tired of the 5th gen? Take a look around these forums or on the streets - seems to be people are pretty pleased with it. I get compliments on my car on the road literally every time I drive it, whether it's a thumbs up or a conversation at a light. Calm down and recognize that if we get a lighter, faster, slightly modernized version with a few cool performance packages, you will buy it.
