Cam Install

Hello all.
I would like to install a cam on my L99. I have the basic bolt ons as of now. My car is not a daily driver, it’s a summer car. I’m looking for some feed back on people who have done it on their L99. Do you like it, would you like to have done anything different? Where did you purchase your parts. Is there any special tools needed? This will be the first time install for me. I will also do a search for myself. I have seen that there is different stages of cam packages. I don’t want on all out strip monster. Thanks.

I'm in the same situation as you. I was looking at the Btr stage 3. Now I'm also looking at the GPI SS2 as well. There has been a ton of useful info from members on here. If you hit the search you will find a lot of good stuff from very useful cam related threads. When you get some good info here from members you can get a better idea. Or contact the popular guys personally...BTR...GPI ..TSP...to name a few.

Depends on your future goals on what cam to get. I kept the vvt on my l99 and went with GPI's SS1 VVT cam because I plan to go forced induction in the future. If you want to keep a N/A build, then a stage 3 or even stage 4 cam with head work and a good stall converter will give you good results.

Had the tsp. Vvt 2 and GpI ss4. Been thru 3 converters from 3200-5000. All depends on what your plans are

I plan to run the gpi SS1 in mine for the same reason of forced induction later on.
