If you can afford a $450,000 supercar, I'd imagine a $30,000 dealer service is a drop in the bucket.

If I paid that much for a car, I would expect that level of service. Regular techs can't even seem to avoid damaging your car during something as trivial as an oil change.

IMO, this is pretty standard treatment for super cars.

Edit: the $30k service upgrade is a cost to the dealers, not the buyers. They have to have specially trained techs, special equipment, and a devoted clean room just for this car.

Ah, I see that now. If Ford wants to be a GT Service Center, said dealer will need to spend $30,000 in upgrades.

That just seems like spending more than $450K, and having to purchase a car trailer. Insane! I'll never own a supercar, ever.

The dealer is paying to upgrade the dealer service centre at the dealership ... not the customer.

Even the Volt required dealer upgrades I believe.

Not the first time I've seen that a dealership has to add items to service a vehicle. When the Hybrid Escape came out, the service department was required to buy this yellow 10' fiberglass pole with a half round hook on the end. I asked what was that for? It was to be used to pull a mechanic from the vehicle, if they were electrocuted!

Doesn't GM require special tech training and equipment upgrades to sell and service Corvette too?

The Dealership has to have a Special Trailer to bring the car in for Service
