Features
So I was told before that all the later trims have all the previous trims features. I.e an LT would have every feature an LS has right out of factory., an 1SS would have everything an LS, LT and 2LT has right out
And thus a ZL1 should have everything an LS. 2LT and 2SS has featurewise. That being said my 2LT has blind zone and lane change alert. Yet I was told a ZL1 does not (according to a chat rep on the Chevy website), also any reason why the convertible ZL1 model when building a car on that site would have the accessories option to add front and rear dashcams but the coupe model does? I'd also ask why the convertible cant get the 1le package but the coupe can. But at least THAT one makes sense and I can guess why that might be |

I would think that the reason you can’t get a front and rear dash cam in a Vert is because it doesn’t have a hardtop like a coupe has and the same would be for a ZL1 1LE no option offered either. I could be mistaken but I would think that is the main reason that you can’t get those on a convertible!

You can get a front dash cam. It's called PDR. For the rear, you can just buy a cheap cam. If you really really want it.
Honestly I could care less if my ZL1 has a stupid lane change or front / rear cameras or blind spot crap that a 2LT has. |

My '20 has all those alerts (minus the front, because I have PDR), but no Homelink.
I thought the '17s didn't come with the blind spot monitoring... Don't quote me on that one... Rag top ZL1s also don't get ELSD.

My 2017 has blind spot/lane change just like the 2016 2SS I used to own!

OP, you heard wrong from the chat. All ZL1 coupes and verts come with rear parking sensors, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert. Really helps in the vert when backing into and out of parking spots when the top is up...

The ZL1 is the full monty trim, it has every core feature that is physically possible, both in terms of hardware and software. That's why it has relatively few options to configure.

If by PDR you're referring to the cam that shows your performance and stats yeah I know about that. But getting that removed the front sensor and I'd rather have that instead

I installed the gen5 diy front camera with the new module so everything works with a new icon on the screen you can even turn on camera while driving. pretty pricy but works awesome especially when parking so you don't hit the splitter on a curb or speedbump.

Btw random soft top convertible in general question. How resistant are they to rain? I mean I know you're not gonna get wet with the top up while driving a few miles. But let's saw you keep your car parked outside instead of a garage. Depending on how hard and long it rains could that be a problem? The vert is a cloth/soft type of material so I'd think it would be just like a towel in by which. If you run water on a towel long enough itll eventually start to soak through. Could the same be said about a vert top?
Also how hard would cleaning bird crap out of the interior be? Lol I asked because birds hit my car at least once a week WHILE it's being driven (I guess they dont like bright yellow) I'd seriously hate for that to happen if I'm driving with the top down lol (too bad the 2020 ZL1 doesnt come in yellow like the 2017 did, so I'll be goin for bright red this time. Maybe birds like that color more?) Lol |
