hahahahahaha Yeah, I can see that. I'd hate to spend $300k on a car only to get handled by a pesky Camaro.

He's pulling away in the straights, that should be an easy fix and you'll still be around 1/3rd of the price of his car Great driving, by the way, I wish I had balls half the size of yours.

Thanks!

I think our car is faster on the straights, but the GT3 RS accelerates faster off of the corners. ZL1 has faster outright midrange speed but the GT3's power to weight can't be beat as far as acceleration is concerned when it comes to putting power down on corner exits.

GT3s are not untouchable and it certainly depends on the year and driver, but for sure are very very fast. Here are 3 GPS speed graphs, same track all with the same driver (me) and all within 1.2 seconds with the ZLE the fastest:

1) My ZLE against a lightly modded 991.2 GT3RS (ZLE is black)

2) My ZLE against a new 992 GT3 (manual) This was my ZLE at it's worst against a brand new 2023 GT3 on Cup 2s, all stock. (ZLE is blue)

3) All 3 together - (ZLE blue, SLE red, 992 GT3 black)

Nice driving! Not a bad thing to have a faster car to chase...it looks like he brought out the best in you.

That ZL1 needed a A10. It's not fair that the porsche has the PDQ.

Nice drive!

GREAT DATA!

Are you running with the TC completely off? I'm running in RACE 2 in PTM. I recall a few journalists saying that even Race mode was still too restrictive.

I'm tempted to go out next time with the TC completely off. Kind of like when Bruce Wayne made the climb without the rope in Rise of the Dark Knight.

The thing you can't see from the video is that turn 2 is a very steep hill. Also, the chicane before the bridge leading to the start/finish straight is also uphill. I'm losing time there for sure and it really comes down to power-to-weight.

This was also a 992 "GT3 RS". Definitely head and shoulders better than the base GT3.

He had me lapping consistently within 1 second of my PB. Definitely got me to push a little harder for sure.

Maybe an A10 would get me a little bit more acceleration with its closer ratios. That upshift into 4th just before the bridge was a bit frustrating. Caught in between gears!

That particular data was in Race mode and yes, it is too restrictive when at pace. (imo) I typically use it the first session or when I know I am grip limited.

I would try to use 3rd gear for T1 and upshift after T2.

I am on the waitlist for a garage at NJMP and hope to make it there this year!

Ken

PLEASE let me know when you make it out this way! Just don't come in August as I will be out of the country for nearly the entire month.

I experimented in the past downshifting into 3rd gear for turn 1 and then going back into 4th after turn 2. Staying in 4th was quicker for me. My car scrubbed off too much speed with the downshift to 3rd. I'm sure it's driver error but staying in 4th seems to work better for me at the moment. Something i need to work on I guess.
