Not impressed
Went to a dealer about an hour away so that I could drive a 2016 manual v6 (they only have autos where I live) with every intention of buying it right then and frankly im not impressed.
I drive currently drive a 2014 manual v6 and have read all kinds of good stuff about the new one being light years in front of mine and to me, not so much. Im not trying to bash the car, im just wondering if anyone else has driven the new car and walked away wondering what all the hoopla is about. Side note- the clutch...what the hell were they thinking when they decided the pedal weight is okay? I hate the clutch on that car. HATE! Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk |

Wow you made a thread about how you're not impressed, yet you didn't include anything of substance. At all. Bravo.

I had the opposite reaction. I use to own a 2011 1SS with full bolt ons and a tune. That car had cloth interior and didn't even have bluetooth. When I got into and drove my new 2016 loaded 2SS, it was night and day for me. The interior is light years ahead of my 2011 and the car honestly felt stronger than mine. It didn't sound as good of course, but I had long tubes so I wasn't thinking it would with just the NPP exhaust. Maybe if I was coming from a 2011 loaded 2SS the 2016 wouldn't be such a big deal, but that wasn't my case.

I like it, very smooth, predictable powerband and a good match with the A8. Im coming from the LT1 and other than a loss of low rpm TQ, its more than I expected it to be.

Hard to get excited about a V6 in my opinion.

I went from a 2012 1LT to the 2016 2LT and I couldn't disagree more. The clutch, amazing compared to my gen5, so much more smooth between shifts and way lighter, and the NPP makes the V6 sound like no other stock V6 I have ever heard. The interior feels more like a luxury car than a Camaro and the tech in the gen6 is light years ahead of the gen5. Can't really see how anyone that has seen and driven it in person would think the gen6 doesn't blow the gen5 away but I guess we all have our own preferences.

Never said I didn't like it, just that to me it doesnt live up to the hype.
I had a 2002 v6 and my 2014 is light years ahead of that car! Worth every damn penny. But after driving the 2016 my buddy asked me why I didnt buy it and all I could say is "meh". To me it just isnt that much better than the 2014. If i was given a choice of a 2015 or 2016 id take the 2016 because yes it is nicer, but i feel it just isnt nearly as big an upgrade as people make it out to be. Very disappointed because I was really excited to buy it. But I love my car, so it isnt like I cannot wait for something better. |
