2018 ZL1 Oil Pump Replacement

Build Date: 09/17 Mileage: 21095 mi Oil used: Mobil 1 ESP X3 0W-40 or Mobil 1 15W-50 Oil pressure: 40 psi (cold idle), 30 psi (warm idle), 40+ psi (cruise) Decided to pre-emptively replace the oil pump since the car and motor are too expensive to be considered throwaways, and I rather like the car for track use. Dis-assembly starts the next weekend. There have been many, many ZL1/ZL1 1LEs (to include mine) that have been throughly tracked on a road course and haven't had issues with the stock oil. Same can be said and about all the other Camaro's too. There has also been a 2017 ZL1 that has been taken to over 210k miles with this "inferior" oil and had zero issue and only had the basic maintenance done when required. |
