Tried a few different websites and i cannot find the part number for a Gen6 ZL1 hood extractor that comes on our cars. I want to buy a second one and have it painted. My original one is already wrapped so i will leave it as is and mod the new one.

Thanks for the link, that is one expensive scoop!! Is that the carbon fiber model? Looks like it from the pic. I am looking for the basic black one since it will be painted.

That is the part number for the painted one in post #17..... the exposed is a different part number in the post prior, GM # 84225785..... on thier website the exposed is cheaper....

They are both carbon fiber, just one is painted and one is exposed finish....

OK...at least now i know why they cost so much. I assume my current one is a type of plastic?

They're all carbon fiber. The ones where the weave has imperfections get painted, while the other ones are used for the exposed carbon fiber option.

ok, so mine is just painted as not to have the CF look...gotcha!! I wasn't sure...I can see this is gonna be an expensive endeavor. I was going to have a mural painted on it. Might be cheaper to have the mural done as a wrap for the scoop.

Wow, didn't know that I have the exposed one. Always wondered how they categorized the two.

Yep, the ones where you can see the weave get some rather pricey clear coat UV protectant on them to keep them from yellowing.

On white cars like ours, the exposed carbon fiber is the only way to go, IMO. Adds some class.

I'm sure eventually the aftermarket will have an extractor made of a lesser material that costs much less. May be worth holding out, especially since the exposed CF doesn't seem to be the look you're after.
