USAA car buying

Just out of curiousity, I went on my USAA member page and explored the car buying guide. My phone and email have blown up!

Most sales guys are saying that they can go ahead and place the order and haven't heard of any constraints

I want the 10 speed in garnet red. I show that color to be unavailable

Is that what yall see?

any experience with the USAA buying?

The Garnett Red is on constraint now so if you put your order in it will sit at 1100 until it comes off constraint. When I got my Camaro I got $750 discount from USAA along with other incentives from my dealer.

I tried using USAA when I bought my '14 ZL1, I had USAA contact a few 'preferred' dealers and they immediately got ahold of me, but they were just normal car dealers and were pretty far away from where I lived (in the state of California, where I will never buy a car due to local tax laws there, I live in Oregon). I still get occasional emails from these dealers.
I think you get a $750.00 for being a USAA member.

I've used the USAA Car Buying program before and I find it very helpful. I used it with my past 2 BMWs and with my current Camaro. After the dealer called me, we did the negotiations over the phone and I just went to the dealer to pick up the car. No HASSLES.

What has been the lowest interest rate on a 72 month loan with excellent credit? USAA offers 2.49%, just checking if there was any better rates out there. I know there are factors that can effect it.

I think your gonna be pretty hard pressed to find a better rate then 2.49% for 6 years. I shopped around for mine and that's the best I could find.

That is what I am thinking, I can get approved in 10 mins with USAA, so I will wait to see what the dealer can come up with first, then pick the best option.

Have used USAA for every car purchase since 2001 and have come away from each deal happy with the process. And, you can still negotiate with the dealer....good luck!

I purchase all my cars through USAA. Unfortunately the $750 deal is no longer in place with GM.

The reason for all the calls really isn't USAA's fault but will happen anytime you put your zip code in and search for inventory and give your e-mail address and phone for a quote. It's really a GM site you're searching and it happens on their build your own site as well. I just look at where the vehicle is located and never ask for contact from them. I'll go find my own sales person.

The pricing you get from USAA comes from here. So you can always just look up your car 1st and then negotiate later.

I printed out USAA's standard rates (not what I was quoted but the one they advertise on the main page in a chart) went to the dealer's financial manager and asked her to find me a bank that will beat it. Now I have a 1.49% interest rate.

That is what I am hoping to do as well. I am putting 40% down as well, that should help. My salesman told me sometimes USAA will be competitive and match other lenders offers, I wonder how true that is?
