Mamo motorsports throttle body install
First off, open the box. Then realize there is a smaller box to open. Dont panic that you see a GM part number on the second box. Its a modified GM throttle body.

The connector has a grey lock tab you need to pull back slightly then press inward and it will release and allow the plug to slide off.
Then the throttle body is 4 10mm bolts |

Do that in reverse order to install.
You can torque the four 10mm bolts. I didnt. Arpad_M found the torque spec in another thread. 88in pounds. Last edited by bishopts; 12-29-2025 at 06:40 PM. |

If you're throttle body was dirty like mine, let the engine idle for about 2 mins to relearn it's new throttle plate position

You will notice a raised area creating a ramp going into the throttle plate working area. That's normal. I was not part of this redesign but i would guess the ramp in needed to be created as far before the throttle plate working area as possible so that the velocity is consistent at the throttle plate.

Install is SUPER easy, like Tony says, it is literally 10 minutes (at most) with very basic tools...
Or if you pour yourself a cocktail and decide to admire your car and hang out in your Man Cave, you can probably drag it to 30 minutes or much more!

Seeing some oil residue on that throttle body is a reminder for a catch can. I will install one while i m swapping my throttle body just incase!

My old throttle plate had a little oil residue (no pooling at bottom of tb bore) and the inside of the manifold also had a very light coat of oil visible through the tb opening. The inside of the rubber intake tube appeared dry. I've had the J&L OSC oil separator on my car for 3500-4k miles now. Engine had around 5k miles on it before the can was installed. Unfortunately, I don't think any catch-can/separator will stop all the oil. |

Nice write-up....Just installed mine...Read the highlights from here as a refresher and it went perfectly...I too noticed a small amount of oil through out the system even on the TB blade...I'm weird about torquing everything so I snuck up on it with 40 then the 88 in/lbs.. When I fired it up it was definitely hunting/calibrating until it slowly settled into a nice idle.. Unfortunately I won't be taking it out on the road today it's way too cold and windy...I'm doing a few mods over the winter now that the factory warranty is over..So I got it over the pit for the AWE axle back install...
