GM Gen VI V8

https://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/gm-e...-block-family/

More facts and speculation articles are starting to populate my newsfeed.

Does it have to include AFM, and does it have to continue to be unreliable and suck?

Will it continue to have a recommended OW-O oil viscosity that nobody will have confidence in?

I read elsewhere that it will have both Coyote style port and direct injection. While I don't necessarily like the complexity of two separate fuel systems, it will likely help with valve cleaning, cooling, idle efficiency, etc, maybe even reduce oil dilution.

If the 6.2 is getting better milage than the 5.3 why would they even offer a 5.3?

Cheaper to build and runs on regular? I thought the 5.3 did a few MPG better typically.

Going to be 6.7L of awesomeness in the next Camaro

I hope GM rates it at 495hp for insurance reasons but it really makes 525+

I think we'll see it in a Grand Sport Corvette which will be the debut of the engine, at least that's the rumor. The 5.7 version shows up in the '27 full size twins for their debut.

I’ve seen this rumor too and I don’t believe the corvette with the 6.7 will be a “grand sport”. Unless GM finally took my advice, they tend to not give a HP bump to their handling specialty trims and packages like the prior grand sport and 1LE’s. Would be really cool if I’m wrong and they finally followed Fords steps and gave HP bumps to the great handling cars.

Hoping to see 525-550 hp out of this engine and happy to see it will most likely have dual injection so the modders aren’t f***ed with high fueling mod costs. Also I think we are going to see a Gen 7 Camaro. If it only has a 5.7 and no 6.7 I am not interested.

That would be a really big deal. Given that Ford already took that step, hopefully GM follows as well.

From what I have learned on this board, the Camaro6 Elite posters will be along shortly to state how that you are so wrong due to them being the (self proclaimed)"smartest people in the room" which means they know better than you, that you don't understand "whatever" obviously, and IF it does happen then it will have 4 doors, automatic flatulence sniffer technology and won't be ICE powered...

I'm here now. Camaro is dead. The resurrection will be the direct competition for the Mustang mach E.

Gotta go back to work now. Might want to do the same GMC Sierra

https://gmauthority.com/blog/2026/01...7th%2C%202024.

I guess it can't be made any worse than AFM, or then again, maybe it can? Guessing this would be a V4/V8 mode thing, again.

And of course, they had to call it "LS6", because all other available letter/number combinations were already in use so it had to made necesessarily confusing with the early 2000s LS6, or something.
