Will the trunk light go off if I leave the trunk slightly open (I am hooked up to a battery tender) Thank you in advance

Hook it up under the hood. There are many threads on this already.

It will.

You may want to hook up the tender to the underhood battery terminals designed for this purpose, access is much easier and the battery will charge just as well. Alternatively, you could also permanently install a tender next to the battery and mount a 120V socket (NOCO makes one, for example) under the rear diffuser, that way you can just plug in the car without opening either the hood or the trunk.

I second the suggestion of considering connection under the hood. For shorter term connections, I just leave the hood popped (in my garage). For longer term (like winter storage), I route the cable right through the front grill but you can also drop it straight down and out under the front lip. My tender uses the same wiring as the Battery Tender brand and has the detachable ends for the connection types, so I just plug in a 25' extension to route the wire from the tender (which is up on a shelf) to the battery from underneath as I put a cover on the car for the winter.
