LT2 Intake with original Engine/Coil covers?

From what I read the original engine and coil covers don't fit with the LT2 intake.

Anyone have any luck modifying the intake or covers to make them fit?

I saw a pic on here where someone was successful, I’ll try and find it.

It takes a lot of modifying but it can be done along with the LT2 intake cover.
The modifications are done on the underside of the fuel rail covers to get them to snap onto the posts.

So you are saying the coil covers can work with the LT2 intake but requires the LT2 engine cover?

Yes, the LT1 cover won't fit on the LT2 intake.

Do you have any pics of the underside that you modded?

I'm in the process of painting them. The driver side is painted and just needs to be cleared. I still have to paint and clear the passenger side. I've notched the covers based on my having the flex fuel sensor on the passenger side and the catch can hose on the driver side. The posts with the grommets on the undersides need to be dremeled off and moved accordingly. Also, one grommet post on each cover is longer than the other, so you'll need to shorten them . You won't be able to utilize the 4 hooks that would normally grab onto the plastic valve covers because of the angle. This is the best solution that I could come up with.

Wow great work! Might as well try this seeing my covers are just sitting and collecting dust!

I looked at it the same way. They were just sitting there, so I saw it as a nice little project. Take your time with the cutouts, the burr tends to bounce if not careful.

No, you don’t need the LT2 intake cover. You can just leave the LT2 intake uncovered and modify the coil covers that say Camaro to fit. It probably takes less modifying than what this guy did due to him using the LT2 intake cover.

You are correct, but It doesn't look very attractive without the LT2 cover. It's just a matter of personal preference.
