How to Depin Throttle Body Connector?

Does anyone know how to depin the throttle body connector? I broke the grey retaining clip when switching throttle bodies cause it was so brittle and I can't for the life of me figure out how to depin the old connector to replace it. I tried sticking the tools in the front and back openings and nothing. Doesn't look like the face of the connector slides off either

You dont need the grey clip. If the black clip under it is still working then it will stay on.
The grey clip is just a lock to keep you from accidentally pressing the release tab and accidentally unplugging the connector. Which is so dumb... engineers need things to be more complicated than necessary to justify their paychecks.

The black clip got busted with the gray one. The connector was so stuck on there that everything got destroyed trying to get it off. It still works but there's nothing locking it on and I can slide it off without pushing anything down now

That gray clip can be important.

For a couple years, I've been running around with that, and the connector has wiggled off more than TWICE on it's own. That resulted in the car going into limp mode in the middle of traffic and on the highway.

DO NOT break or remove that (i.e. keep it functioning) unless you want to risk a similar fate. That's a safety lock so it won't wiggle off.

Thumbs down

This is what your clip looks like,

Locate the tab on the back and use a pocket screwdriver to release the tab and push in on all the wires

It will expose the terminal lock

Remove the terminal lock with a pick and then you will see the plastic tab holding the terminal

Lift up on the holding tab and slide the terminal back

You will notice the outer cover is still there. You will need to pull each wire all the way out of the old outer cover and place them in the new one. One at a time will make it easier for you and on my test one i had to unwind the tape loom about 6 inches back.

That's exactly what I was worried about but I was able to replace it thanks to bishop. Hopefully you fixed yours too...
