On my holiday journey north for Christmas I had a front tire blow out leaving me stuck on the side of a highway for 7 hours. I was in a pinch and found someone on marketplace selling a set of Pirelli Trofeo R's brand new for $1500. Not the tires I wanted but they were good enough to get me home.



I had R888's on the front and rear (305 front 325 rear) and only put the Pirelli's on the front to make it home. The rear Pirelli's are 315s and I'm pretty much indecisive on whether I should:


-Stretch them on the rear rims to match the front
-Sell them and get a set of 325 pirelli's
-Sell the whole set and get another set of R888's (The fronts now have 1200 miles on them)

-Some other option I'm not thinking of

r888r fronts in 1le sizes have been unavailable since last february.
I suspect they are going to discontinue it - but that is just my opinion. Its been nearly a year since they ran out of front sizes.

I contacted directly because they don’t know.
No need to reply further, but if a specific tire is on national backorder “due to high demand” it would make sense to make some, or at the very least get it on a production schedule.

I would probably sell those rears and find the 325s. Unless Toyo gets their stuff in order and starts making/selling the front size again.
