Goliath vs Lt4 with Stock Cam

Hi fellas, just wondering if anyone has some data yet on a STOCK CAM bolt on type setup. I know it would be expensive and probably around same price you could do a cam setup. Just curious

You can expect 20% more fuel available from the Goliath vs LT4

You can also run it higher pressures so you can get more out of your LT4 injectors, up to the limit of the LT4 injector opening pressures.

Sounds like a win win!

Yup, it is a nice jump over the stock LT4 stuff but its mostly useless without XDI 30's. The Bigger injectors is what gives you the additional spray time to take advantage of the extra fuel flow from the Goliath. On the stock LT4 stuff I could only run E20-E30 max.

I'm somewhere around 750rwhp on E50-E60 with the Goliath and XDI 30's. The DA was negative 500 the other day and the car hit 16psi up top. The Goliath and XDI 30's were holding on for dear life at redline on E50. In warmer weather I can run E60-E65 just fine when the DA is in the 1500-2500 range and I'm only hitting 14.5 PSI up top. I've run it on E70 in the summer before and it was really pushing the fuel system to the edge.

Add a cam, where the Goliath was meant to shine, and you will have all the pressure you want. On the stock cam, the pressure starts to drop off if you push too hard.

I just ran a 6.07 60-130 on my setup and the tires slipped on the hit. Had they not slipped it would have been a 5.97 run. Normally my 6070mph time is .60 but on this run it was .70.

That said, E50-E60 will get you 95% of the available power. So being able to run an Xport blower, 2.3 upper, big gulp, headers, 107mm TB and still run E60 is a win win. I think its well worth the money to avoid meth or having to add port.

Note: You will want a tuner that has experience with the Goliath hpfp and XDI's. Ted over at Jannetty, Katech or myself are the three I know that have experience with this pump. You have to setup the tune correctly or you will get some odd results.

Thanks for that update. I have a similar setup as yours. P1x stock pulley 7-8psi. All lt4 fueling, jms bap, ran 10.50’s letting off around 1000ft, was nosing over out of fuel (e45) I want to hit 9.9x’s so I need 3 or so tenths. I have a primary cat delete to install and I’m opening up stock manifolds a bit (very small outlet) still needing some more fuel and don’t really want to do a meth injection kit. That would be the least amount of $$$ though

I honestly wouldn't have done meth if I had knowledge of port first. Same for the P1x I had not heard about that unit when I got my setup. Was thinking about upgrading over the winter but no need I'm getting all I need out of the lil blower that could. LoL

A friend is itching to get me on the track at least once so I may take a trip sooner or later. I like your numbers though good luck with reaching your goals.

You are going to need more than 7-8psi to run 9's. Well I take that back you might do it at MIR or CECIL with negative DA but not on an average track in average air.

With a pulley size down(9psi), XDI30 and Goliath, you should be able to run E50 in negative DA. The LT1 cam has a smaller fuel lobe than the LT4 so it's likely going to have more trouble pushing the Goliath pump at high pressure.
