Ported Heads?

So I’m pondering if porting the stock LT4 heads is worth it / needed for my 2019 ZL1/1LE that will be getting built this spring. Being Canadian it’s looking around $2500+ USD for Frankenstein or Katech (Port, Intake and Exhaust valves, guides, springs)

Build is:
Jokerz Ported Blower
2” Catless Kooks Headers
TSP Cam 229/245 .635/.635 117LSA +32
BTR .660” dual valve springs
Johnson 2110r lifters
Roto-Fab Big Gulp
Katech 103mm TB
160 Thermostat
ATI crank pulley
Cordes Expansion Tank
MM Catch can
DOD / VVT delete kit (valley cover style)
ARP head stud kit
DSX 9.65” Lower Pulley
DSX Aux fuel pump kit
P3 Gauge
Meth kit
Plugs / wires yadda yadda

What are your goals for the car…? If you want 1K WHP then definitely do it. Certainly not necessary to make 800 WHP.

Ported heads would add to efficiency, and maybe require less boost to get to where you want to go, but anecdotally - many builds have gotten to that power without ported heads, like Josh' said. They flow well already.

Maybe for peace of mind - with the purported valve guide issue these, apparently, have, sending them out for porting and to address the guides wouldn't be a bad idea.

Your build says ported blower but doesnt state which one.

If you are planning on going big and the heads are off the car - go ahead and do it.

You gain around 20whp by porting stock castings. LT4 heads shouldn't need totally reworked like LT1 heads do. I would just have them ported and run the appropriate springs.

Mine has the LME heads [Hennessey #1] that came with HPE's 850 pkg. I didn't ask LME how much horsepower they add, and HPE wouldn't tell me, but LME told me that their CID heads add approximately 25 HP.
