DSX port injection status - FAQ
While discussing high-side fueling options, I noticed that DSX has port injection plates for LT1/4 on their website.
But I don't see a controller or harness to interface with the PCM. Matt was kind enough to point me to their FAQ on the subject. I don't know if it's been posted here yet, but I'm sure that some of you are also interested. https://dsxtuning.com/blogs/dsx-tech...controller-faq TL;DR "Next month .... hopefully"

My thoughts exactly.
My tuner sounded excited about it too, so maybe we just give DSX a month or two and see what comes of it before pulling the trigger.

If there was any benefit, I would do PI and all that goes with it, but I can barely keep it on the road now. I've even had to pulley up recently from a 2.625 upper to 3". It's an 8.9x car with no parachute or cage.

Correct me if I'm wrong but after reading the updates my understanding is the port will not kick in until the DI has reached its limits?

That’s how I read the latest update as well. If so, it sounds even more sophisticated than I originally understood it. All of this is, is fantastic for us the consumer. I will be heavily considering switching to it once it’s available to the general public.

If I understand things correctly, and what I'm working with works similarly - the PI doesn't come in until the EOI limit is reached. That EOI limit is commanded by us. That limit has been in the tune file for a LONG time, apparently. If we command an EOI of 180* (as Dave shows us in his blogs), the DI will keep spraying until it reaches that. Then the PI will come in, and take over the remainder of the fueling duties. I've seen it work on my car, and it appears to work well. There are other things going on in the background, too, which I'm not quite understanding (with fuel pressure calculations and compensations I believe). THPSI has had a BETA up for a little bit, which is what I've been working off of. I don't think things are yet finalized, and I'm not sure I can say more, so I'm only stating what I've seen, and what's already available from Mike (and with what DSX has shared about their upcoming product).
I see the big dip in RAIL PRESSURE and spike in IPW, just as DSX shows, too. I'm running more boost and a higher E' content, so my dip/spike (respectively) are exaggerated, but within limits THPSI has showed us with his testing in the past, and confirmed moreover by what DSX is sharing. Both of those DO come back around as RPMs increase. If you already have a REFLEX+, you look to get, eventually, about the same results. I don't know if the integration will be as complete (i.e. full HPT SCANNER functionality and integration) and maybe it will - I, honestly don't know. I don't know that I need to pay another thousand dollars for that if I can already see the rest of the information I want, through the TunerPRO software, but that's just me. My OCD would prefer to see it all together, but, it sounds like the pure functionality is not all that complicated. Again - I'm not that experienced to see where all the maths are, but I see it works. It sounds like it's been working great on the BIMMERs.

Pretty much...It will activate based on end of injection timing, which is based on crank rotation degrees. This way it can be tuned via HPtuners and not need a secondary software to control it.

Basically - DSX's posts in his blog match what I've observed. There's pretty much nothing (performance-wise) that he's shown thus far that I haven't seen work on the REFLEX. Again - minus the SCANNER integration. It's not, hardware-wise, as simple to integrate, but it's not worth another thousand bucks to me. I'd rather put in the completely reversal hardware/work for that money. The data DSX has shared is pretty much exactly data I've either experienced directly, or seen. You've probably seen Mike's got 960 to the tires on nearly full E85. I think he posted he ran out of low-side which is why he stopped. And his car is stock, minus the 2650 (which he'd pulley'd down), GM CAI with a 5" tube/elbow to a 103. Full OEM exhaust. So - no tricks or anything. And don't get me wrong. Having used some DSX products myself, they ARE premium, and do the work they charge you for. I'm not suggesting otherwise and or disparaging or admonishing that product in any way. I'm only trying to convey what I've experienced and seen, and think you're not going to be missing out on much, if anything, especially if you already have a REFLEX+

As someone who only plays on their own stuff, and has learned A LOT from posts Jason has gifted us with (as well as King', Josh', laynlo', and others [I'm sorry if I didn't post - no disrespect]), if you already have people like him tuning, I'm not sure you're going to gain too much with this product, necessarily. With fine-tuning the calibration/models, I think the best one might expect is max'ing out the DI as far as it will go, which will offer just a little more power. That's relative to the combination, obviously, but for those of us with products like this already, we're not going to, probably, see much more than what we already have. This product (and subsequent revisions, hopefully, to existing products in the future) will just allow more people add PI to their combinations a whole lot easier. I'm not sure if "effectively" would be the magnitude I'd use to describe the benefits thereof, but it will definitely be easier for more people, and that's a good thing. I can add close to 10* more timing on E' because I can only get 91 here, so the benefits are great for me. I love the PI, and my old method was working good enough for my combination. With only a handful of calibration changes, with products like these, the sky's the limit now. That's exciting. JMVHO.
