Lightbulb Installing new side marker lights, but not working

Hi there, I'm a new Camaro owner and today I was replacing the side markers lights. I bought some on Amazon.

The right part works like a charm but when I installed the front-left side marker, it's not turning on at all. Tried other lights and still doesn't work.

I am a total beginner with this, so how do I know where the problem is if the light is not turning on? Does it mean a fuse is out? Where do I check?

Thanks!

What bulbs are in there? Are they polarity sensitive? Is it possible to pull the bulb, turn it 180 degrees and put it back in?

Yes but the ones I bought on Amazon fit in the place of the bulb. The other side markers I installed work just fine after pulling the bulb and plugging them in.
Similar to these:

How do I find out where the issue is?

I went through this already, if you’re updating them with LED just go buy diode dynamics and get it over with. You buy them five times off Amazon to get one good set or buy them once from diode

Can you reverse the plug in? I know on the 3157 LED bulbs I have put in my truck if you plug them in 1 way they don't work, but if you plug them in the other way they work just fine.

Gotta add a +1 to diode dynamics. I have only had good experience with them.
Also really like the color choice on your car OP!

Hey CamaroChill, try the suggestion above, LEDs are polarity sensitive (being diodes, they only conduct electricity in one direction), and especially cheaper parts don't have built-in electronics to reverse the wrong polarity for you automatically. Very easy to try, just plug it in the other way.

If this doesn't fix the issue, try swapping the bulbs side to side to see if it's the bulb or the car. If it's the car, try putting the stock bulb back in to see if the LED part blew a fuse.

If the stock bulb still works, you have a problem with the product; furthermore, if the LED bulb works on one side but not the other, toss it in the garbage and buy Diode Dynamics or Oracle or something reputable instead. (For the record, I bought this unit from JW Motorsports in May 2019 after repeated issues with Diode Dynamics, and all four of my JWM side markers have been working flawlessly since then. Rumor has it that Diode Dynamics have since then fixed the problems with their suppliers and later units do not die like mine did several times.)

The fuses to check for side marker operation are F18 (body control module 4) and F28 (body control module 3) in the underhood fuse box.

I agree, I've had the Diode Dynamics Smoked Markers for nearly 4 years and they work and look great...

Thanks everybody for the suggestions.
I will definitely check the other side and possibly buy the Diode (I’m not in US otherwise I would’ve gotten them already).

The stock bulb wasn’t working as well for the front left part. And as I said, I’m a total beginner in this, does it mean that the fuse is burnt? Is it easy to replace the fuse or do I need a mechanic? If anybody could give me indication on which fuse to buy and how to replace it, and check if it’s broken, I’d really appreciate.

I love this community of Camaro lovers!

Possibly, you need to check the underhood fuse box. I posted a picture above that I marked up the fuses in.

The good news is that you will find both a fuse puller (looks like small plastic pincers) as well as a row of spare fuses in the fuse box, in positions F68 to F72. See if the ones I indicated are blown, which you can tell by pulling the fuse, looking through it and seeing a burnt or at least no longer continuous metal line within. If that's what happened, pick a spare fuse that has the same amperage (also color). For the record and to help your future purchase, our cars use Micro2 ATR fuses.

With that said, if the LED bulb burnt out a fuse, it's defective, so replacing the fuse and plugging the thing back in will just result in another burnt fuse, I would put the stock bulb back in, and if it works, buy a better side marker.

If these fuses are intact, check the connector and the wiring on the side that doesn't work now.

Thanks a lot for the kind explanation, I’m glad it also has spare fuses.

When you said that our cars use Micro2 ATR fuses, does it mean I cannot buy one of those kits on Amazon that contains 100+ mini and medium fuses because they are not compatible?
Should I look specifically for “Micro2 ATR” fuses when buying spare fuses?

Last question for now, I've seen the diagram that you shared but if the fuse for the side markers lights is out, shouldn't they all stop working? In my case, it's only the front-left and maybe the rear-left lights.

Thanks again for the time.
