New PWR lt4 slanted intercooler bricks

So I took the plunge and ordered them but not without a little research and data.

On Jokerz performance website Brett said" our shop on a 2020 GT500 we switched out the factory intercooler brick to a PWR one & picked up 30whp & saw roughly a 10 degree IAT drop. Each core is hand made, welded and pressure tested. Good for 20+psi with zero collapsing.Improved air flow & efficiency. Cooler IATs."
So I decided to email him to see if he had any data on the PWR lt4 bricks. I asked him if these bricks bring down Iat2 and manifold air temps while allowing more air to pass through and he responded with "Yes they flow 14 more gallons per minute at same pressure ratio as stock.Temps are 20+ degrees lower at wot then stock. The core technology allows for better water flow through the core for better heat extraction as air passes through a denser fin design that allows air to travel through .
It all sounds good but I was still spectacle. It helps that Jokerz and Brett are well respected on here but I decided to give PWR a call and they said they have witnessed a have seen 15-30F reductions in IATs throughout a pull in all GM applications.
I have a ported supercharger,Nick Williams 103 TB,2" Headers, Interchiller along with the FI thermal blanket and fasterproms supercharger thermal spacer (no longer made by them but FI interchillers started making the plates now). I will update everyone on my personal unbiased results as soon as I install them. BTW I have stock cam and heads and stock SP pulleys.
I may end having the COOLEST stock supercharger...

Interesting. I’d love to see what you think after install. May have to look into these also.

Good thread

This is interesting to me as it seems you could see a benefit without a tune due to the cooler temps. Simple drop in. Too bad they are $1,800.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have any data on these intercooler bricks?

Yes, we need an update. I have yet to find any good first hand reviews and I'm curious.

If they worked well you would have known about them by now. Everyone would be using them.

To be fair, though, most people just swap superchargers and don't even try to make the stock one for efficient. So it's possible it could work, I know the supercharger spacers work , but many people dont talk about those either. That being said, if they're still $1600 or whatever, upgrading the heat exchangers might be more beneficial and cost effective

LOTS of people still run a ported OEM blower, I have yet to see a top shop recommend these bricks and there's almost zero feedback. That tells me everything.

We tried them. We still use OEM bricks in ported blowers. They kept leaking in the front where the O Rings fit into the blower and there was no noticeable improvement in temps or power. We never used them again.

I think the only thing they can do is handle higher boost without failing like the OEM bricks can. But you won't get any gains from them over OEM.

That is true. I have been impressed with my temps since installing the Blower Spacers, but only a couple people were able to give any feedback on them, and that took a lot of digging.

I have not use the blower spacers in my ZL1 but they were noticeably effective in my Hellcat.

I had the FI Interchillers version of the blower spacers for my 2023 ZL1. Only for a short period of time before adding THSPI port injection. I did notice noticed IAT drop on average around 10°. I data log quite a bit when I'm just out cruising and my temps were down based on comparable driving and outside temps / weather.

About what I got out of mine on the Hellcat, it was a 12F drop.

My question is, Why has Kong/DSX/etc not come out with a lid like the LS9 with upgraded bricks built into it? It seems like the LS9 design could be carried over to the LT4 with some modifications. It actually seems like there might be more room to work with on the LT4 vs the LS9, but I could be wrong.

Anyone know why something like this couldn't work?
