BTW, do the currently produced cars still contain a hidden "builder's name" plaque? I've seen them mentioned in the forum before, but those were some older posts.
I picked up my car 2 weeks ago, where would I look for it?

You got an auto, doubtful you have it.

Check underneath the driver's side plastic cover that says "CAMARO" on it. When you pop that cover off, you should see it on the side on the silver intake cover if you have it.

Why does the transmission determine whether the engine was hand assembled or not?

I thought this had essentially stopped in like 2019 or 2020...

My 2020 2SS M6 did not have the build plaque. My LT4 does

Right, but many LT1 motors do have them pre-2020. I seem to recall it being something to do with leveraging the Corvette engine team "for a while", but now it's just the LT4 engines that are built there.

Here is the thread from 2020 were this is discussed:

PERFORMANCE ENGINE CENTER PLAQUE

Pretty sure all LT4s in the ZL1s have the plaque regardless of transmission.

Its the LT1 engines in the SS and LT1 trims where the transmission seems to correlate with the engine having the plaque.

I have a 2023 LT1 M6 - built 08/22 with the plaque

Interesting that they are still hand-building some of the LT1 engines... I was under the impression that had stopped.

FF had a 2020 2SS M6... no plaque. I have a 2020 2SS M6... no plaque.

I thought all M6 SS or LT1s had them. My 22 SS 1LE M6 has a engine builder's plaque.

I thought that the LT1 PBC engines started sometime in 2020 and continued to present day. Not all 2020s had them as evidenced by yours and FFs LT1/M6 equipped cars.

No problem, I got my OP answer and I like a good conversation.
