DI Rinse System

Does anyone have experience with DI Rinse systems? I got mine delivered today and just hooked it up. I’m going to give it a try tomorrow if the weather holds up. I bought the one from dirinse.com

I’ve never tried one, be interested to see how well it works. I’ve got hard water, but find that as long as I promptly dry the car after washing, I’ve never had water spots thankfully.

I buy one of these every year or so. https://aquacrestfilter.com/products...RoCOQ0QAvD_BwE I drain the water out of it after every wash. Seems to work “ok”, with very little flow. My Towns well water is hard as heck and is also super-chlorinated (I won’t drink it). The filter helps, but drying promptly in combination with the filter makes a difficult at home process, a bit more bearable.

On the west coast, we have a commercial provider called PureTec. Initial cost is about $100 more than your cost, but the benefit is refills/tank swaps are only about $60. I saw your tanks refill cost is $235, which is par for the course. Usually why people only use it for rinsing. Since not only the DI capacity of the tank is extremely high, and cost to swap tanks are so low, I'm using it for all stages including cleaning my wheels, pre-wash, wash, and rinsing. So far with a 300 TDS, I'm at 550 gallons used and it's still going strong.

If you like washing your cars, you'll really enjoy the system and the suds your car shampoo will have. Also, say bye to water spots!

Also, the system isn't necessary as long as you work relatively quickly and never wash in direct sunlight.

I was actually concerned about the resin refill costs. I even installed a low flow hose for the tank. I checked the TDS yesterday and the pre DTS was 125 and after the filter it’s was 0. The Purtec sounds like a good deal over the long haul. I do enjoy detailing my cars. I’ll spend hours outside listening to music and washing them.

If I were to get a rinsing system, I'd make a pressurized tank and use some distilled water. Cheaper in the long run vs. buying resin, and both the water tank and air compressor are multi-taskers. Can control the flow w/ the pressure to get a nice no-mist pooled rinse going.

Something like this:

This is a great idea…I’m going to give it a shot with a cheapo pressurized HD garden sprayer.

I tried it out this morning, I washed my wife’s and my SUV’s and it’s pretty breezy today like usual. I usually have a hard time having time to start drying before the spots start. The results are very impressive, I washed them and didn’t do any type of drying just let them air dry and I can’t find a single water spot. Actually looks better then when I’m trying to rush around and dry off the spots. Worth the investment, time will tell on how long the resin lasts but I did use the valves built in to only use the resin when I rinsed.

Or even one of these maybe but it only holds 2.5 gallons. I definitely used more then 5 gallons rinsing them though.
